3,500-Student Robotics Event

Bringing Robotics to 3,500 Students in Ghana

In one of the largest STEM events ever organized at a single school in Ghana, Greatness In You (GIU) partnered with Ghana Secondary Senior High School to host a robotics demonstration and hands-on workshop that reached 3,500 students in a single day. For the vast majority of these young people, it was their first encounter with robotics technology.

The event featured live robot demonstrations, coding workshops, and interactive stations where students could build and program simple robots. Guest speakers from Ghana's growing tech community shared their journeys, showing students that careers in technology are not only possible but within reach.

Why This Matters

Ghana's future depends on a generation that is fluent in technology. Yet most secondary schools in the country lack access to computers, let alone robotics equipment. By bringing STEM directly to students, GIU is closing the exposure gap that keeps talented young Ghanaians from pursuing careers in engineering, computer science, and innovation.

The response from students was overwhelming. Teachers reported a surge of interest in science and mathematics in the weeks following the event. Several students went on to form informal coding clubs, using donated laptops to continue learning programming on their own.

Looking Ahead

GIU plans to expand its robotics and STEM programming to additional schools across Ghana, with the goal of reaching 10,000 students annually. With your support, we can purchase robotics kits, train local teachers, and build permanent STEM labs in underserved communities.
