Kwabena Kesse
Chief Servant & Founder of Greatness In You

From a Village in Ghana to Changing the World
Kwabena Kesse grew up in a poverty-stricken rural village in Ghana, where opportunity was scarce and the future felt uncertain. Despite the overwhelming challenges of his surroundings, Kwabena never lost sight of the belief that education could transform lives. Through the generosity of family, friends, and the blessing of scholarships, he overcame every obstacle that stood in his way — from limited resources to the weight of systemic poverty.
That journey of resilience carried him far beyond his village. Kwabena became a certified public accountant and built a career spanning over 15 years in the financial industry. But even as he achieved professional success, a deeper calling was taking root. He knew his purpose extended beyond spreadsheets and balance sheets — it was to serve mankind.
In 2022, Kwabena founded Greatness In You (GIU), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to education, healthcare, and community empowerment in underserved communities. The name itself reflects his core belief: that greatness already exists within every individual, waiting to be unlocked through opportunity and support.
Kwabena's grandfather is Nana Sempe, Chief of Oyoko Koforidua— a lineage that connects him deeply to the communities GIU serves. This isn't distant philanthropy. This is personal. Every program GIU launches, every child who receives a scholarship, every clinic that receives life-saving equipment — it all traces back to Kwabena's lived experience growing up in the very communities he now uplifts.
“Each morning, I'm given breath free of charge — not as a result of anything I did right, but by His Grace. That is why I serve. That is why GIU exists.”
His Impact at GIU
Under Kwabena's leadership as Chief Servant — a title he chose deliberately over “CEO” because he leads by serving — GIU has grown from a vision into a movement. Today, the organization has impacted over 6,000 lives across Ghana through scholarships, laptop donations, classroom renovations, healthcare campaigns, and community development programs.
He assembled a board of dedicated professionals who share his vision, each contributing their expertise and personal resources to fund GIU's mission. He led the charge on the 7.5 KVA generator donation to the Oyoko Health Centre — a gift that the clinic administrator credited with eliminating maternal deaths caused by power outages. He spearheaded scholarship programs that have sent students to school who otherwise would have been left behind.
Kwabena doesn't just lead from behind a desk. He is on the ground in Ghana, standing beside chiefs and community leaders, visiting schools, distributing supplies, and making sure every dollar donated reaches the people who need it most. His leadership is rooted in accountability, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to the belief that every human being carries greatness within them.
