A Decade of Clinical Excellence, A Lifetime of Service

Dr. Kobina Amoah serves as the Associate Director of Oncology Medical Affairs at Labcorp Oncology, where he applies his deep expertise in pharmaceutical science and healthcare management to advance cancer research and treatment. His career sits at the intersection of clinical practice, business strategy, and data-driven decision making — a combination that makes him an extraordinarily effective leader.

Dr. Amoah earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, one of the nation's most respected pharmacy programs. He went on to earn an MBA from the UGA Terry College of Business with a dual focus on Healthcare Management and Data Analytics — equipping him with the tools to not only understand the science of medicine but the systems that deliver it.

With over 10 years of clinical expertise, Dr. Amoah has developed a comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery challenges, particularly in underserved regions. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, demonstrating his commitment to operational efficiency and continuous improvement in every initiative he leads.

“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. When you bring awareness, education, and resources to communities that have been overlooked, you don't just treat disease — you transform futures.”

His Impact at GIU

Dr. Amoah's contributions to GIU have been transformative. He led GIU's breast cancer awareness campaign in the Volta Region, a groundbreaking public health initiative that reached over 400 community members. In a region where cancer awareness is critically low and screening resources are scarce, this campaign provided education on early detection, self-examination, and the importance of seeking medical care — potentially saving countless lives.

Beyond the Volta Region campaign, Dr. Amoah has been instrumental in designing and executing health seminars and public health campaigns across Ghana. His clinical knowledge ensures that GIU's health programs are medically accurate, culturally sensitive, and impactful. He brings the same rigor he applies at Labcorp to every GIU initiative — because the communities they serve deserve nothing less.

Dr. Amoah was also key to the generator donation to the Oyoko Health Centre, understanding from a medical professional's perspective just how critical reliable power is to healthcare delivery. He helped advocate for and coordinate the donation that the clinic administrator credited with eliminating maternal deaths caused by power outages.
